...and that's a wrap!
Break time - 2025 was a long racing season. I had some great experiences and met a ton of wonderful people, running everything from 5k's to 140-milers. People often ask me what my favorite distance is. The short answer: I really don't have a favorite - it's like saying you have a favorite child. I'm just happy to be out there doing what I love to do.

Broomfield Turkey Day 5k
Broomfield Turkey Day 5k - I woke up with a sore throat today (but feel fine now). The skies were sunny and the temperature was around 35 degrees at the start. It was difficult to make my way through so many runners on a narrow course. There were over 2,300 runners in the 5k and almost 400 in the 10k.

Turkey Trek 5k
Turkey Trek 5k - I was late signing up for this race because I was still fatigued from my 140-mile race just two weeks ago. I ran about 12 miles during the past week and decided late Thursday to go for it.
The weather was perfect, around 50 degrees with no wind. (Still no snow in the Denver area yet!) That uphill for the last mile was a b*tch!
I won my age group (1/14) and placed 40th (40/438) overall.

Route 66 Ultrarun 140-miler
Route 66 Ultrarun - 140-miler
I ran this race in 2024 and came back this year to see if I could improve my time. The race begins in Seligman, AZ, passing through Peach Springs, Kingman and Oatman, and finishes in Topock.
The weather was warmer at the start this year with less wind. I cut about 7 hours off of my 2024 time with a finish time of 50 hours, 42 minutes and 2 seconds this year. (About 5-1/2 hours of sleep)

The Great Trailhead Footrace
The Great Trailhead Footrace 10-miler - Blue sky and cool temperatures at Bear Creek Lake State Park today, but, oh, that wind. Gusts up to 54 MPH on a gorgeous trail!
I connected with many of my 3W Race friends - definitely worth the outing.
I finished 25th overall and won the 60-69 year old age group. My wife Jeanne also placed third in her age group in the 5-mile race. A fun day!

Bear Chase 50k
The weather was pretty good early on, but gusty winds blew in around noon.
I took 46 minutes off of last year’s time for a PR on this particular course.
I won first place in my age group and 38th overall.
