Broomfield Turkey Day 5k - I woke up with a sore throat today (but feel fine now). The skies were sunny and the temperature was around 35 degrees at the start. It was difficult to make my way through so many runners on a narrow course. There were over 2,300 runners in the 5k and almost 400 in the 10k.

The Great Trailhead Footrace 10-miler - Blue sky and cool temperatures at Bear Creek Lake State Park today, but, oh, that wind. Gusts up to 54 MPH on a gorgeous trail! I connected with many of my 3W Race friends - definitely worth the outing. I finished 25th overall and won the 60-69 year old age group. My wife Jeanne also placed third in her age group in the 5-mile race. A fun day!

The weather was pretty good early on, but gusty winds blew in around noon. I took 46 minutes off of last year’s time for a PR on this particular course. I won first place in my age group and 38th overall.

“So Long to Summer 5k” - Sunny, but cool weather for today’s 5k race. The last uphill was a doozy! First in age group (1/7) and 9th place overall (9/228). Finally getting my rhythm back. Nice medal and scored a $15 gift certificate to Mici’s Italian restaurant. Yum!

The weather was pretty hot for this race but I try to do this race each year to support our fallen officers. I definitely felt sluggish but still managed to pull off first place in the 60-69 age group.

First of all, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. I hope you’re able to spend quality time with your family today! The weather was a bit warm today for the 1 mile, 5k and 10k races. My legs were a bit sluggish and I definitely didn’t run an “A” race, but it was good enough to finish second in my age group.
