Every once in a while, reality exceeds your expectations. In October of last year, "Running for the Average Joe" cracked the "Top 100 Running books of All Time", coming in at #92. In January, it's ranking rose to #60. I'm humbled that it continues to rise in the rankings and was rated at #48 in the latest poll from BookAuthority.org. It's been an incredible journey for the past four years, watching the growth and popularity of this book, and wondering just how far it will go.
Looking down the list of books and authors, it really is an honor to be in such good company:
#5 Let Your Mind Run - Deena Kastor
#11 Born to Run - Christopher McDougall
#27 The Long Run - Matt Long
#43 Meb For Mortals - Meb Keflezighi
#46 Advanced Marathoning - Pete Pfitzinger, Scott Douglas
#48 Running for the Average Joe - Bill Watts
#57 Marathon Man - Bill Rodgers
#62 Field Guide to Ultrarunning - Hal Koerner
#66 Galloway's Book on Running - Jeff Galloway
#69 Ultramarathon Man - Dean Karnazes
#82 Chicken Soup for the Soul - Dean Karnazes
#91 26 Marathons - Meb Keflezighi
#95 The Incomplete book of Running - Peter Sagal
#96 Strong - Kara Goucher
I'm now working on the Fourth Edition with a release date towards the end of 2021, with a LOT of new content! Stay tuned.
